The Scent Support Programme is a science-led, reward-based programme designed to support a dog’s emotional wellbeing, confidence and focus.

As one of only a small number of instructors in the UK licensed to use scentwork in this specialised way, we deliver the programme alongside a behavioural modification plan to provide structured, practical support for dogs experiencing anxiety, reactivity, over-arousal, frustration, low confidence or environmental stress.

Delivered on a tailored one-to-one basis in the dog’s own environment, the programme uses calm, carefully structured scentwork to help dogs think independently, solve problems and work at their own pace. It supports emotional regulation, decompression, environmental confidence and calmer decision-making.

Activities include introducing a target odour, search and problem-solving exercises, line-ups, indication work, confidence-building scent trails and carefully managed environmental exposure. The target odour can become a familiar emotional anchor associated with calm, achievable and rewarding experiences.

Scent Walks is a calm, structured and dog-led programme that uses natural scent exploration to support a dog’s emotional regulation, confidence and independent decision-making.

Dogs are allowed to process odour at their own pace, without pressured searches, formal indications, repeated commands or task-driven expectations. The handler remains neutral, using quiet handling and a soft lead to observe and support the dog.

Suitable for dogs of all ages, breeds and abilities, from sensitive or reactive dogs to confident working dogs,

the programme promotes engagement, calmer behaviour and thoughtful problem-solving through welfare-led scent exploration.

Mantrailing is one of the fastest-growing dog activities in the UK and is an exciting way to work together as a team while tapping into your dog’s incredible natural ability to use their nose.

Unlike obedience training, your dog is encouraged to take the lead. Using a specific scent article, such as a glove, hat or other personal item, your dog follows the unique scent left behind by a volunteer “missing person” and works out where they have gone. Every trail is different, making each search a new adventure.

At K-9 Enrichment, our Mantrailing sessions are designed for pet dogs and their handlers. This is not operational search and rescue training or a competition sport.
