Policies & Welfare at K‑9 Enrichment Hub
This page is the Business Hub for all key policies and welfare standards at K‑9 Enrichment Hub. At K‑9 Enrichment Hub, our first priority is the safety, wellbeing and dignity of every dog and every person who joins our community. This page brings together our key policies so you know exactly what to expect from us. Please read these guidelines before attending classes, events or activities.
Policies, Terms & Welfare Standards
Our Welfare Commitment
The wellbeing of your dog is our highest priority. We operate under a strict 'dogs-first' policy, ensuring that every activity, interaction, and environment is designed to be low-stress, safe, and enriching. We advocate for the emotional and physical health of every dog in our community.
Training Philosophy
We use science-based, positive reinforcement methods exclusively. We do not permit or condone the use of physical punishment, intimidation, or fear-based techniques. Our goal is to build a relationship based on trust, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
Equipment Policy
To maintain a safe and welfare-focused environment, we require all dogs to be fitted with humane equipment. Approved items include:
- Fixed flat collars or well-fitted Y-shaped harnesses.Standard fixed-length leads (no extendable/flexi leads during group sessions).
The following items are strictly prohibited: prong collars, choke chains, electric shock collars, and slip leads used for correction.
Health & Fitness
Dogs should be in good general health to participate in physically demanding activities. Please consult with your vet if your dog has underlying conditions. It is the owner's responsibility to monitor their dog for signs of injury or fatigue during training.
Vaccinations
For the safety of the community, we recommend all attending dogs are up to date with their core vaccinations. We also accept titre test results. Please ensure your dog is treated for parasites regularly to prevent transmission in social settings.
Reactive or Nervous Dogs
We welcome dogs with big feelings. However, to keep everyone safe, we ask that you inform us in advance if your dog is reactive or particularly nervous. This allows us to provide suitable space, visual barriers, or specific guidance to ensure they remain below threshold.
Children
Children are welcome to attend training sessions but must be supervised at all times by a non-handling adult. We promote safe interactions between children and dogs and may ask children to remain at a distance for the safety of all participants.
Weather Policy
Outdoor events may be postponed in cases of extreme weather (heavy rain, gale-force winds, or heat exceeding 24°C). We prioritise dog safety in high temperatures to avoid heatstroke. Decisions will be communicated at least 2 hours before the start time.
Safety During Training
Owners are responsible for the control and conduct of their dogs at all times. Please maintain a respectful distance between dogs unless a social interaction is explicitly directed by the trainer. Always pick up after your dog.
Photography & Social Media
We often capture photos and videos during our sessions for educational and promotional purposes. If you do not wish for your dog or yourself to be featured on our digital platforms, please let us know at the start of your first session.
Booking & Payment
Bookings are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment. We use secure online payment methods. For recurring community activities, subscriptions must be managed via your member portal.

We understand that life happens. Our policy is as follows:
- 48+ hours notice: Full refund or credit.24-48 hours notice: 50% refund.Less than 24 hours notice: No refund provided.
If we cancel a session for any reason, a full refund or alternative date will be offered.
